Modern Websites & Tech for Animal Shelters

We'd love to help non-profit shelters and rescues trade clunky, expensive website builders for a fast, modern site that actually drives adoptions and donations. We built one for our local shelter — now we want to make it available to more. Tell us what you need and we'll see what we can do.

Why We Do This

One of our founders volunteers at the Humane Society of Logan County in Lincoln, Illinois — and happens to be the IT and automation person. What started as helping out on shifts turned into solving real problems for the shelter with technology.

First it was the dogs: barking, stress, and the chaos of a kennel. We installed a donated Sonos system and wired it to automation — calming music on a day/night schedule, and a storm-detection trigger that turns the music up when thunder rolls in, so the kennel stays calm. Then a wall kiosk so any volunteer can adjust the music or temperature without touching a server.

Then we rebuilt their website from the ground up and donated it — and the pet cemetery site next door. Now we want to do the same for other shelters. We've lived your processes; we know what a shelter site actually needs.

What We've Built

Real projects, in production, for our local shelter and its cemetery.

Humane Society of Logan County

Not a brochure — a real platform. Staff and volunteer logins, live pet postings from Petfinder, online donations and memberships, scheduling, events, a projects board, and a Wall of Thanks. Replaced their old Wix site. Donated.

Forever Home Cemetery

A warm memorial site for the shelter's pet-and-people cemetery, with local SEO and Google Maps so grieving families can actually find it.

Kennel Calming-Audio System

Sonos speakers + Home Assistant automation: calming music on a day/night schedule, a storm trigger that raises the volume to keep dogs calm, and a wall kiosk for volunteers.

A Platform Shelters Can Run Themselves

A look at the live Humane Society of Logan County site. Staff and volunteers manage everything — pets, events, projects, donations — with no developer required.

Homepage — a live count of adoptable pets and a clear path to adopt or donate.
Adopt — pets pulled live from Petfinder, updated the moment staff change a listing.
Donate — secure one-time or monthly giving through Square checkout.
Staff dashboard — volunteers manage pets, events, projects, and the Wall of Thanks.

What We Can Do for Your Shelter

It's a real platform, not a brochure — built to raise awareness of the work you do and the work that's still needed, because that awareness is what drives donations. Pick what you need and add the rest over time.

Modern Website

Fast, mobile-friendly, and easy to read. Built to load quickly and rank well — not a bloated page builder.

Staff & Volunteer Logins

Role-based accounts so staff and volunteers can manage content, postings, and schedules — no developer needed.

Live Pet Postings

Adoptable pets pulled straight from Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet, so your site updates itself when staff update the listings.

Scheduling

Volunteer shifts and event scheduling built in, so the right people show up at the right time.

Donations & Memberships

Secure online giving and recurring memberships through Square or Stripe — money goes straight to your account.

Events & News

Post events and updates yourself and keep your community in the loop.

Projects & Wall of Thanks

Show what you've accomplished and what still needs doing, and publicly thank your donors. Awareness drives giving.

SEO & Google Maps

Local search, Google Business Profile, and a Maps pin so adopters and donors in your area actually find you.

Calming Audio & Automation

Home Assistant + Sonos to keep the critters calm — calming music on a schedule, turned up automatically during storms.

We keep it affordable for non-profits — many shelters pay nothing for the website itself and only cover low monthly hosting. Tell us what you need.

Where We're Headed — an Honest Note

We'd genuinely like to help every shelter that needs it. Today each site is a hands-on, largely pro-bono build — and even with AI helping, it takes hours and hours — so we can't promise it to everyone just yet. We'd rather be honest than over-promise.

Here's where we're headed: take the platform we built for our local shelter and box it up into an affordable, multi-tenant product any shelter can run — adoptions, donations, volunteers, events, all of it. If enough shelters want it, that's exactly what we'll build.

So tell us what you need. Every request helps us shape the product and shows us the demand — and helping animal-welfare organizations succeed online is a real, growing focus of LTC Labs. For the animals, and for everyone keeping pet welfare going. 🐾

Want to help? We need tech volunteers.

Developers, designers, and tech-minded folks who love animals can multiply what we're able to do for shelters. If that's you, we'd love to hear from you.

Ask Us for Help

Run a shelter or rescue and want a better website (or some shelter tech)? Tell us about it.

We can't promise it to everyone yet — but we'd like to. Share what you need and we'll see what we can do; it also helps us decide what to build next. Because animals are awesome. 🐾
